Yana Hill Station is located in North Karnataka region close to Kumta and Sirsi, both at a distance of 25-37 kilometers away from this village and 60 kilometers from Karwar. Yana can also be reached via a trek route through Janmane Ghat or Devimane Ghat. Yana is situated in the Sahyadri range of Western Ghats. Extremely popular for its two crystalline rock formations from Karst limestone or black rock from asteroids are known as Mohini Hill or Shikhara and Bhairaveshwara Shikhara or Hill. The first peak is located at an altitude of 300 feet and the second one is located at an elevation of 390 feet.

Yana is also popular for a temple located in a cave on Bhairaveshwara hillock with a Shiva Lingam or Swayambhu which is a manifestation of Lord Shiva and Goddess Chandika also known as Mohini and Durga are worshipped and visited by pilgrims. The divinity of this temple is enhanced by an unknown water source which trickles down directly overhead the Lingam. This creates an impression of Ganga flowing from Shiva’s locks. The cave is overflowing with stalactite and stalagmite formations and 61 limestone rock formations within an area of 3 kilometer. There are several mythological stories revolving round nominating the region.

Picturesque with greenery and dense forest cover along with natural streams, Yana is a thrilling spot for tourists seeking out adventure, for photographers and admirers of nature. Hiking, rock climbing and trekking are popular activities undertaken by tourists in this region. Vibhooti waterfalls is an amazing wonder to behold near Yana and also famous for camping and bird watching activities. Yana can be accessed by Kumta railway station or from Hubli airport. The aroma, the scenic view adds to a special charm for which Yana is declared as a National Heritage Site. The area decks up during Shivratri which is celebrated with fanfare.

Other places to be visited within a close range of Yana are Basavaraja Durga Island, Devbagh Island, Darya Bahadurgadh Island, Karwar Island, Sanyasi Island, Gokarna Temples, Anshi National Park, Shiv Gange Falls and Karwar Beach to name a few.
